When I Say I Am A Christian

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I'm not shouting, "I've been saved!"

I'm whispering, "I get lost!

That's why I chose this way".

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I don't speak with human pride

I'm confessing that I stumble--

Needing God to be my guide.

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I'm not trying to be strong

I'm professing that I'm weak

And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I'm not bragging of success

I'm admitting that I've failed

That I've done things I regret.

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I don't think I know it all

I submit to my confusion

Asking humbly to be taught.

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I'm not claiming to be perfect

My flaws are all too visible

But God believes I'm worth it.

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I still feel the sting of pain

I have my share of heartache,

Which is why I seek God's name.

When I say, "I am a Christian"

I do not wish to judge

I have no authority...

I only know I'm loved.

  To reach First Presbyterian from Napa 

Come south on US 29 (Napa-Vallejo highway) through American Canyon and past US 37.   Look for Redwood St., Nebraska St. should be coming up shortly.  Turn left onto Nebraska St., go by Vallejo High School on the left and then First Presbyterian on the right.  Turn right onto Glenn St., going behind the church, then turn right into the church parking lot. WELCOME!

   

To reach First Presbyterian from I-80

Coming from the direction of Fairfield, look for the Redwood St. exit:  the next one will be the Tennessee St./Mare Island exit--take it and go west towards Mare Island.  Coming from the direction of East Bay, look for the Springs Road/Solano Ave. exit:  the next one will be the Tennessee St./Mare Island exit--take it and go west towards Mare Island.  After you pass the Tuolumne St. light, start looking for Amador St., turn right onto Amador St., go north until you pass the church on the right, turn right onto Nebraska St.  Go past the church, turn right onto Glenn St, and then right into the church parking lot.  WELCOME!
